Welcome Students!
If you’re here, that means you want to do good in your community and we’re already SO proud of you for that! Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about volunteering with HangOutDoGood or starting your own HODG Club.

“You can always, always give something. Even if it is only kindness.”

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED…
Please note that HODG is NOT a 501c(3).
We are not an “official” non-profit. We’re just a group of neighbors doing good in our community :)
To receive community service hours for making SUNDAY LUNCHES, The Hollywood Food Coalition (501c3) will approve your hours.
You MUST do the following:
Drop off your lunches at Blessed Sacrament: use the entrance at 1511 Cassil Pl., LA 90028.
Sometimes, the drop-off location changes. Please check this Instagram post for weekly updates.
Drop-off hours: 10:30am - 1:00pm
Please bring a document with name, date, school and number of lunches made. Bonnie from The Hollywood Food Coalition will approve/sign for you.
You will receive a maximum of 2 hours for each drop off. Must make 10 lunches minimum.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are a variety of ways you can volunteer with HODG, but the most popular is our Sunday Lunches which happens every Sunday, rain or shine. To see the full calendar of events, click the link below:

FAQs
-
HODG is not a 501c(3) -- so if your school requires that -- we will not be able to approve your hours. If volunteering with a 501c(3) is not a requirement, then yes! We're more than happy to approve! For Sunday Lunches, Bonnie from The Hollywood Food Coalition will approve your hours when you drop off lunch bags in-person. You will receive 2 hours for every 10 lunches.
-
Please send us a dated letter with your volunteer hours, an explanation of the project you volunteered with, photos if any, and a parent signature that verifies the hours are complete. Send to: hangoutdogood@gmail.com.
-
Adults and youth who are making Sunday Lunches must drop-off their lunches themselves to Blessed Sacrament or at one of our Hub Locations. HODG is not responsible for driving any volunteers. Once the lunches are dropped off at a hub, our HODG Leads will drive the lunches to Hollywood Food Coalition.
