What is HODG?
HODG stands for HangOutDoGood. We are a group of friends, neighbors, activists and do-gooders who like to shake things up, partner with other awesome groups and help make the world a better place.
What is HODG Clubs?
We always wanted to start a club for kids! But the challenge was finding students who took the initiative to make it happen. Then in 2023, we discovered that two students at Calabasas High had already started their HODG Club and had been making Sunday Lunches. Surprise! Now, Stephanie and Maddie are our HODG Club Leads. They help us meet with students, just like you, to help make it happen at your school! HODG Clubs is an opportunity to hang out, do good and spread kindness in your community.
What kind of activities do we do?
The beauty of HangOutDoGood, is that do we do serious work - but we never take ourselves too seriously ;) You have the freedom to create and evolve your club with things that interest you, your friends and your classmates. Most students like to kick off their club with our Sunday Lunch Drive. Then from there, they can organize a clothing drive, or make hygiene kits for the unhoused, or volunteer at HODG events like our State Fair! Let's meet and find a project that you're interested in.
Do I have to start a club at school?
Nope! Some schools have rules and requirements that don't allow you to start a HODG Club. And that's totally fine! You can still start a club in your community outside of school - and hey, it looks even better on college applications! Just as long as you have a safe meeting space (like your home) for your meetups. But of course, check with your school first to see if you can start a club and utilize the campus for meetings, club rush, etc.
How many HODG Clubs are there?
Right now, we have seven HODG Clubs!
Who can join?
Anyone! Including you!
