HODG SHABBAT WITH CULTIVALA

CultivaLA is joining us for dinner. CultivaLA is an organization dedicated to developing urban farms in parts of LA that need them most. The farmers―“cultivadores”―are predominantly Latino, and many have a family history of farming. Not only do these farms make healthy food more accessible for these communities, they also bring jobs, pride and joy to the neighborhoods. 

Jose Miguel Ruiz, the founder and ED of CultivaLA will share the inspiring story of his organization – he started with .16 acres of empty space in Westlake/MacArthur Park and created a farming community – c'mon, how rad is that?? -- and we will share shabbat dinner with him.

Actually, in honor of CultivaLA, I propose we do something different and  each make a fresh salad to share!
