2024 HODG CA State Fair

Sat, September 21 11am - 2pm

HangOutDoGood (HODG) is organizing a California State Fair to help flip the House Blue — and you’re invited!

We’ll be fundraising and taking action in support of seven California races that could determine what party controls the House. VP/future president Harris will have a hard time getting anything done without that.

There will be fun games, a dunk tank, postcarding, food and more! Everyone’s invited - bring your family and friends! RSVP HERE NOW

If you can’t make it the day of the fair, please consider DONATING to one or all of these key California candidates:

  • Jessica Morse

Jessica Morse is the only woman running for a flippable congressional seat in CA! She is a 5th generation resident of CA-3, which includes Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and Mammoth. Jessica spent decades in the State Dept fighting terrorism and human trafficking. Since the devastating fires in her district, she has dedicated herself to finding solutions to preventing wildfires and protecting our beautiful environment.

  • Adam Gray

Adam Gray ran for this seat in 2022, and lost to the current Republican by only 564 votes. Gray has been a CA State Assemblymember representing Merced. He is running in California's 13th Congressional District and his priorities include protecting the water of this agriculture-based district and bringing better schools and medical care to everyone.

  • Rudy Salas

Rudy Salas was the first Latino Bakersfield City Councilmember ever. He is now running to become the first Latino to represent this majority Latino district in Congress (CA-22)! In his 5 terms in the CA State Assembly, Rudy has fought for the people of the Central Valley. Among his many accomplishments, he brought in $50 million of investments to build an emergency response center and clean water wells. He also helped save Kern Medical hospital from closing its doors.

  • George Whitesides

George Whitesides is running against MAGA Republican Mike Garcia in CA-27 (Lancaster, Palmdale, Antelope Valley.) Whitesides worked on Obama’s transition team in ‘08, then served as Chief of Staff for NASA and was the first CEO of Virgin Galactic, where he created 700 jobs. In Congress, his priorities will be: jobs, lowering the costs of living and protecting our reproductive freedom from MAGA Republicans like his opponent.

  • Will Rollins

Will Rollins is running against extremist MAGA Ken Calvert in CA-41 which includes the Coachella Valley. Rollins lost last go around to Calvert, but the district has gotten a lot bluer now that it also contains Palm Srpings, which is home to one of the largest LGBTQ communities in the country. (Rollins is gay, and MAGA Calvert has voted against LGBTQ rights in the past!) Rollins has a real shot, which is why this is considered a real toss up race.

  • Dave Min

David Min is running to fill Katie Porter’s seat in Irvine (CA-47). A law professor who was elected in ‘20 to the CA State Senate, Min has co-authored legislation that expands protections for domestic violence survivors, bans gun sales on state property and enshrines abortion into the state constitution. A first generation Korean-Americaan, Dave is running for congress to preserve the American Dream that brought his parents to this country.

  • Mike Levin

Congressman Mike Levin is the incumbent in this San Diego district (CA-49). Cook Political Report says the race “leans democrat,” but it’s a purple district that we can’t afford to lose. In Congress, Levin has been a leader on climate action and clean energy, and serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. He introduced legislation to transition the nation to zero-emission vehicles, expand renewable energy development, and prevent future offshore oil drilling. We need this guy in DC!

  • Josh Harder

Congressman Josh Harder (CA-09) grew up in the Valley and lives in Tracy with his wife Pam and their two young daughters, Lillian and Karina. He sees how expensive it’s getting to raise a family – from gas to housing to health care – and how our communities keep getting left behind. For too long politicians have put their own egos above actually getting things done for our families. Josh represents a new generation of leaders working to break the gridlock and fix the broken political system. Josh comes from the business world and is focused on the most important issues in our community like lowering costs, fighting homelessness and keeping our neighborhoods safe.
